After five years of maintaining sites, its finally become clear to be that I am completely and utterly burned out. In 1999, I was maintaining three seperate sites at once. Eventually that just dwindled, in 2001, to twistid.com and my NP fan site. After doing twistid.com for a while, I burned out on writing and fell back to this blog.
But it hasn't been the same. While I enjoy updating DFK, I feel like I've run out of things to say online. I've been expressing myself in writing and such here and other places and I think I've finally screamed out my last bit of frustration. Oh don't worry, plenty will still piss me off, and I may still update this when I feel it neccesary but the 5 times a week updates are done. I just can't do it anymore. It's no fun.
So thanks to everyone who enjoyed my work and who came over here from twistid.com and all that. It means the world to me. But I just can't keep the show going anymore, not now and probably not for a while. I'm sure I'll pop up again someday.

Alright, well thanks to everyone for the feedback. Maybe I just need to change the focus of the site, cuz clearly I have some readers who enjoy it.
I'm going to marinate on that for the rest of this week and hopefully come up with something by next Monday or so. Sorry about that, but expect a better focus on the site by then. Thanks again to everyone who comes to this little rant place on the web...nothing like hearing a crazy liberal get all upset now is there? ;)

I wonder why I update this thing anymore, there really isn't much for me to say. I need a break from it I think. I want to have a website but its becoming a chore to post here, even though I enjoy it and I enjoy having everyone read it who does. It makes me feel good to know I have an audience, but I hate having to be "on" all the time. I'm tired of posting links and what not, I think I'm just going to start posting here when something interesting happens, something worth talking about.

Busy. Make the week end, I need to breathe!
Oh and my neck hurts. That is all. More next week prolly, or some this week if I get some air.

Ok, well the game sucked. I hate Chris Rix, I really do. Go back to California.
At least we managed to stay dry - our seats were on the very top row and while the view wasn't horrendous, we were under an overhang and thus avoided the rain that fell all game long. That was nice.
Let's talk the Iraq war. Namely, the Astroturfing of it.
What's that you ask?
Simple: you take some standard form letter, heavy on pro US (or pro Bush) propaganda and send the letters out to newspapers all over the country, seeking to spread your opinion. It's really ingenious - newspapers love printing short, well written emotional letters to the editor. But now, someone has started doing the same thing with the war in Iraq, by signing soldiers names to a "everything is going great here folks" letter and sending them in to the papers around the country. There's no way to tell probably who is sending these, but it makes you wonder what the morale is like with the soldiers over there if Bush is having to lie about it in a propaganda campaign.
Oh wait, there is a way to tell. Namely, the current investigation by the Army into the ungodly high number of soldiers killing themselves overseas in Iraq. I think the real cause here is the false expectations they had: many of the military I'm sure actually believed Bush and his lies about WMD and all that nonsense and as such, when they got there to the desert and found it all to be a mirage, well then yeah, you can understand the drop in morale. This is a really dangerous game Bush is playing, because with a disenfranchised fighting force, you have soldiers who lose track and sight of what could, all partisanship aside, should be a noble and good cause (the war on terror).
Blah. I wish I had something good to show you as an uplifter but, well, sorry. I guess I have a case of the Mondays, heh.
